Chief Executive Officer
Paula Webster Grant has a twenty-plus year history in the world of corporate business with expertise in business strategy and development. Paula has been able to use her skill set in establishing obtainable goals for business in the pharmaceutical, dental, knowledge management, and entertainment industry areas. With a Masters degree in Business Administration from Harrington University, London, England, Paula has positioned herself as an able networker giving her the ability to formulate an executive team that encompasses individuals from the entertainment, advertising, and computer technology fields.
For twelve years, Paula managed a production company in Los Angeles which utilized the talents of such notables as Norman Connors, Ron Tyson of the Temptations, Ollie Woodson formerly of the Temptations, the songwriter Bruce Hawes with such hits as “Sadie” and “Games People Play”, Earl Young of the Tramps, and many more. Paula has also been developing clients for twenty years in the areas of artist development, production, song writing, publishing etc.
Paula is the CEO and founder of two music/literary publishing companies (Phillybass’d Music (ASCAP) and M & L Highway Publishing (BMI)); a music entertainment media consulting company (Phillybass’d Entertainment, Inc.); a production firm (Phillybass’d Productions); a public relations group (G & A Communications) and an image consultant group (The Image Consulting Group). Paula is the COO of BGR Media as well as being the co-chairman of the board of directors for the Whistling WindChild Foundation, a non-profit art, literary & performing arts organization that provides educational workshops for songwriters, producers, literary writers and performers who are just embarking on what will hopefully be an enriching career in the entertainment industry.
Paula also lends her business acumen as a consultant to several individuals and companies in the entertainment industry concerning such areas as organizational structure, management, copyright royalties, contract negotiations and marketing. Currently she is working with Omni SounDesign, Sound Doctor Productions,and Camp West Recorders.
Paula is a member of the American Managers Association, the National Association of Female Executives, a member of Cambridge Who Who’s, the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) and Stanford’s Who’s Who.Paula is an honored member of the 2001 International Who’s Who of Entrepreneurs Historical Society and the recipient of the 2009 VIP from Cambridge Who’s Who, the recipient of the 2010 VIP from Stanford’s Who’s Who and 2010/2011 “Woman of the Year” award from the National Association of Professional Women.
Creative Marketing Director
Jill Berger, a graduate of Syracuse University with a BS in theater arts and communications, has a long and varied theatrical/entertainment background as well as her twenty-five years in advertising. Jill was a member of an all-girl rock group, worked at Playhouse in the Park in Philadelphia during the “hey day” of Summer Stock Theatre. She also worked for the Philadelphia ‘76 Bicentennial in the Street Show Division as well as the Concert Division (Elton John and Kiki Dee at their best).
Jill worked for Six Flags Great Adventure in the Live Show and Concert Divisions. South Side Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, Wolfman Jack, Crystal Gayle, The Shirelles, the late Andy Gibb and Scott Biao were only some of the musical talent she worked with, not including the variety acts, theatre revues and circus acts.
Jill has spent the last twenty-five years in the advertising and marketing area. Having worked on accounts such as American Express, E Trade, AT&T, General Motors, Perrier and The New York Times, Jill is extremely knowledgeable in respect to the overall process of multi-tier advertising campaigns involving print, multi- media, direct marketing, public relations and event planning.
Jill’s expertise focuses on creating advertising and marketing campaigns for those clients who are looking for direct exposure, as well as helping with creating their “images.” From Jill’s early start in the rock group to a Set Design/Children’s Theatre major in college, to her twenty-five years in the advertising industry, Jill’s background, experience and expertise are merging together at Phillybass'd Entertainment, Inc. Besides being executive vice president of Phillybass'd Entertainment, Inc., Jill is also the creative director of G &A Communications, CEO and founder of BGR Media and the co-chairman of the board of directors for the Whistling WindChild Foundation, a non-profit art, literary, & performing arts organization that provides educational workshops for songwriters, producers, literary writers and performers who are just embarking on what will hopefully be an enriching career in the entertainment industry.
Jill is a member of the Direct Marketing Group, Women Direct Marketing, Public Relations Society of America and has performed pro-bono work for the Ad Council.
Human Resources/Community Outreach Director
Linda received a BA in English from Rutgers University, as well as her Masters in Public Administration from Rutgers University-Camden. Her professional career is diverse in the areas of human resources, management administration, volunteer development, partnerships, sponsorships and service learning programs. Relocating back to the East coast, Linda worked for the City of Indianapolis's Parks and Recreation Department as Community Outreach Manager. There she built sustaining partnerships and relationships between local government and businesses, nonprofits, the education community and grassroots organizations. Linda also hosted the Indianapolis Parks and Recreation TV show showcasing the multitude of park events and programs.
Being civic-minded, Linda is active in the Willingboro, NJ community, currently chairing the Zoning Commission and is the past chair of the Human Relations Commission. Linda is active with Rutgers University Alumni Association, NJ Citizens Campaign, the Society for Human Resources Management, and is on the advisory board for the College of Philadelphia Career Services Department.
The world of music and entertainment is not foreign to Linda with close family members who were in the business. Her great aunt and uncle were Pearl Bailey (singer, movie, stage, and TV actress) and Louie Bellson, double-bass drum player who played with great jazz artists such as Duke Ellington. Her parents and brother are also musically inclined playing various musical instruments. With music being so instrumental in her life, it is no wonder that Phillybass’d Entertainment is a great fit. Linda has been an aerobic instructor for over 20 years and is currently studying to be a personal trainer. A great way to keep PBE clients in shape!
Senior Director, West Coast Division
Jackie Simley has a 25+ year career in the music and entertainment industry. Jackie has fine-tuned her skills in the area of vocal production, Artist Development, singing, vocal training, and record and television production.
Upon arriving to Los Angeles, Jackie was quickly able to establish herself with many hitmaker songwriters and producers in the music and film industries. Her natural ability to sing any harmonic vocal part, write, produce vocal arrangements and production, led her to a position as one of the top session vocalists in Los Angeles as well as touring/working with such notable superstar recording artists as: Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight, The Gap Band, BB King, Lionel Ritchie, Rod Stewart, Ice Cube, Crystal Method, Whitney Houston, Raphael Saadiq, Celine Dion, The Doors, Queen Latifah and Patti LaBelle, (who in her “When A Woman Loves” album, gave tribute to Jackie as being one of the “unsung heroines” of the music industry…”). Jackie also performed film soundtracks for “Boyz-n-the Hood”, “The Five Heartbeats”, “Revenge of the Nerds I, II”, “A Preachers Wife”, and “Cuyote Ugly” to name a few. Jackie produced her first project for A.F.T.R.A. Guild by developing a Sight reading course, which was adopted by S.A.G. in the same year, and runs successfully to this day.
While in a studio session for Patti Labelle, Jackie was offered her first professional opportunity as a vocal instructor by Randy Jackson of “American Idol” and “America’s Best Dance Crew”, who took her under his wing. His first coaching introduction was with Columbia/Sony Records.
Her unique style of vocal instruction, which she called, “…the practical application of vocalization..”, took hold, giving Mr. Jackson confidence to continue introductions to Record Labels MCA, 32 Records (Magic Johnson), Epic, Arista, Hollywood Records and Disney Records. Legendary Filmstar/Vocalist Hilary Duff was able to take advantage of Jackie’s vocal instruction skills, which led to the successful launch of her first professionally released album with Disney Records, “Santa Claus Lane”. Other notable celebrity Artists: Q’Orianka Kilcher, (“Pokahontas”), Judith Hill (Michael Jackson “This is It”), Talib Kweli (HipHop Artist), Karina Lombard (“Last Man Standing”), Michael Copon (“Bue Power Ranger”), and Malcolm Jamal Warner (“The Cosby’s”). She was also selected in a national search as a Celebrity Vocal Coach for the VH1 Television show, “But Can They Sing”.
